Viktor Filyk is the first deputy of the Head Bishop of the Russian Church of Evangelical Christians, the head of Education Department. Viktor Filyk pastors a church in the city of Murmansk, on the Kolsky peninsula near the Arctic Ocean.
Viktor was born on February 4, 1965 in the village Mukhovets in Ternopil region, in Ukraine to a family of Christians of Evangelical Faith.
In 1982 he graduated from high school in Vishnevets. In the same year he entered the Polytechnical Institute in Riga, Latvia.
From 1984 to 1986, Viktor served in the Armed Forces of the USSR, in Moscow. Returning from the army, he continued his studies at Riga Technical University and graduated in 1992 with a degree in engineering.
In 1990, Viktor began his ministry in the city of Murmansk, where he continues to serve today as a senior pastor. Viktor studied and graduated from Bible school in Jelgava, Latvia.
In 2009 he graduated from Kiev Evangelical Theological Seminary, receiving a Master of Arts in Christian disciplines. In 2001, Viktor was ordained a regional bishop, and in December 2009 he was appointed the first deputy of the Head Bishop.
Viktor and his wife, Svetlana married since 1991. They have three children: Victoria, David, Louise.
