First deputy of the Head Bishop of the Russian Church/Pentecostal Union, Doctor of theology Nickolay I. Zalutsky is the head of the International Department of the Russian Church, Bishop in the Northwest Federal District, and senior pastor of Emmanuel Church in Pskov.
Nickolay was born June 28, 1961 in a family of believers in Vladimir-Volynsk of Volynsk region in western Ukraine. His parents had 12 children.
Nickolay’s father was a minister of a local underground church. When Nickolay was 13 years old, he was baptized in water. He directed music ministry, and later became choir director at his church.
In 1983, at the call of God and personal invitation of pastor Nikolai Shevchuk he came to Riga (Latvia), where he became a youth pastor. In 1988 he got married. Today Nickolay and his wife Elena have four children: Angelica, Evelyn, Mark, Adrian. In 1989 Nickolay became an evangelist of the Christian mission "Light" (Jelgava, Latvia), headed by Vasiliy Filimonov.
In 1990, Nickolay Zalutsky came to Pskov to set up one of the first Christian festivals organized by an American pastor Larry Stockstill of Louisiana, USA. As a result of the festivals there were many people in Pskov who got saved. The challenge was to find a pastor for these new converts and a new church. Nickolay answered the call of God, leading Emmanuel Church. In 1998 he became the founder of New Life Bible training school of Church in Pskov. During its existence the school trained about 300 ministers, who work both in Russia, Ukraine and abroad.
On February 14, 1999 Nickolay Zalutsky was ordained Bishop of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith. On December 28, 2000 by the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin Nickolay Zalutsky was awarded with the state award – the Medal of the Order of “Merit for the Motherland” II degree. He was awarded for his great contribution to strengthening civil peace and the revival of spiritual and moral traditions. On November 3, 2001 Nickolay Zalutsky received the title of Honorary Doctor of Christian Theology from Faith Christian University in Orlando, USA. The same year he was recorded in the biographical directory “People of the North-West”. On June 17, 2003 he was awarded with a medal “In memory of 1100-anniversary of the first mention in the chronicle of Pskov”. In 2006, he was recorded in the book “Famous people of Russia”.
In December 2009, Nickolay I. Zalutsky was appointed first deputy of the Head Bishop of the Russian Church.
